W1 professorship (with tenure track to W3) in “Natural Hazards and Structural Resilience”

The job advertisement is focused on junior academics early on in their professions. The recruitment requirements of the Thuringian Higher Education Act ( § 89 ThürHG) apply.

The professorship is initially restricted to three years. This is expected to be extended by a further 3 years, following a positive period examination. If a more evaluation after six years is also positive, then the W1 professorship will be converted into a W3 professorship without an additional job ad.

The professorship is a part of the Institute of Structural Engineering and handle the assessment and – assessment of structural danger in the context of natural threats in research study as well as in teaching. Candidates need to have dealt thoroughly with structural modelling, simulation, and measurement of extreme load results from natural risks. Focus areas of research belong to the design of engineering structures related to such packing scenarios, in addition to the evaluation and optimization of existing structural facilities and facilities systems. The research study subjects described above need to be directly reflected in teaching. Excellent didactic abilities and experience in teaching in English language are basic requirements for effective work at our organization. The determination to find out the German language within a period of 3 years is expected.
