Queen Mary is a Russell Group university with a difference: combining excellence in research and teaching with an unrivalled commitment to social justice and social mobility, inspired by our proud heritage dating back to 1785. We are a diverse community of more than 33,000 students and close to 5,400 members of staff drawn from more than 170 nationalities, with an annual income of £613m. We are a proud global institution, with a presence in China, the USA, Malta, Paris, Malaysia, India and Pakistan, and partnerships all over the world. We are ranked in to the top 20 institutions in the world for global outlook, our academics work with their peers all over the globe, and our 200,000 plus alumni work and live in all corners of the world.
As Queen Mary looks forward to the next phase of our Strategy 2030, we are seeking to grow our international reputation such that we are recognised as one of the great, global, research-intensive universities in the world. Working in partnership with colleagues across the University, we are seeking a senior leader to enhance our reputation through deepening and broadening current international partnerships and developing new alliances with a broad range of organisations in diverse geographies. We have long been recognised as a leader in transnational education, with over 6,000 of our students being taught at a range of partner institutions in China, in addition to circa 70 students joining our MBBS programme on our Malta campus annually, and students also joining postgraduate law programmes run in Paris. We are looking the enhance and broaden this reputation.

In terms of specific areas of focus, the Vice-Principal (International) will report against key Strategy 2030 KPIs relating to reputation, international partnerships, international student recruitment and alumni engagement.
As Vice-Principal (International), you will be an established leader in your academic field.
