Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Technical Coordinator in our Technical Services Team.

The purpose of this post is to provide technical expertise to users of the production spaces in Elephant Studios at LSBU. This will focus on operational activities associated with Film, Photography, Sound and other creative media related disciplines. This is a key role that typically involves the effective maintenance and coordination of resources across the production facilities, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and departmental and University policies. The post holder will also be responsible to the day-to-day coordination of technical staff supporting the areas and assisting students and other stakeholders with the use of specialist equipment, workflows, and processes. Broader responsibilities include the day-to day planning and effective management of the growing range of facilities across Elephant Studios.

About You:

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a related media discipline.
  • Substantial professional experience in studio operations with a particular demonstrable focus on at least one or more of the following areas: TV, radio, live broadcast, Film production, Sound, Media workflows, Virtual Production).
  • Recent experience of supervising a media facility in a creative environment, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of production studio workflows.
  • A broad-based understanding of post-production techniques with specialist knowledge in at least one of the following areas: Film, Sound, TV, Virtual production.

The post holder will be the technical lead in this area and will need to have both the detailed relevant experience, and enthusiasm to pass on their knowledge to staff, students and other interested parties.  As part of this it is also expected that the post holder will bring technical expertise in one or more subject disciplines of the area of remit and will be willing to develop their knowledge, and practical understanding of the other areas they support.
