About the Role
This is an exciting time to join Queen Mary University as we develop our new sustainability and climate strategy and action plan.
You will contribute to the implementation of sustainability initiatives across Queen Mary and provide support to the Sustainability Team.
You will help with engagement activities; perform administrative tasks such as processing of utility bills and support the team in the operational delivery of Queen Mary’s ISO 14001 environmental management system.
Tasks could vary from helping carry out environmental audits in a laboratory or running engagement activities for Sustainability Week to monitoring our email inbox.
About You
You should hold a relevant degree or equivalent work experience, ideally in a sustainable development and/or environmental discipline, and have knowledge about the main sustainability issues, risks and opportunities.
Have knowledge about sustainability and able to inspire others and actively contribute with ideas. You will have the ability to communicate effectively at all levels and to collaborate as part of a team.
You should be able to create and present content in varied formats and engage staff, students, and other stakeholders on the sustainability agenda.
You should have good numerical and analytical skills and high attention to detail.
About the Department
The Sustainability Team is part of the Estates and Facilities Directorate within Professional Services covering all non-academic functions.
