About Us
The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry (FMD) has research spend of circa £100m and a research portfolio that spans from discovery and applied science, through translational research and applied health research. Our research is embedded within the local community of East London and supports FMD’s objective to produce innovative therapies, advance patient management nationally and internationally.

The Operations and Projects team sits within the Vice Principal (of Health) office. Based out of our Charterhouse Square office (with the opportunity to also work on a hybrid basis), you will be part of a dedicated team of four whose purpose is to support the delivery of assigned projects that facilitate delivery of our 2030 Research and Education strategy.

About The Role
As we continue to take forward our strategy, we have an opportunity for a Strategy Project Manager to initially support key projects under the Environmental & Health Workstream.

For the past 18 months the environment workstream has been engaged in developing its network, education models and subthemes: Natural Environment, Microbial Environment, Built Environment and Psychosocial Environment.

You will be given the opportunity to support the workstream leads to shape and realise the next phase goals, to engage with and build relationships with senior academics and stakeholders across the Faculty, University and externally to develop funding bids and education programme development.

Additionally, you will also have the chance to support peers and wider Faculty colleagues on other assigned projects and a portfolio of strategic initiatives such as the facilitation, oversight, and delivery of complex projects such as integration of research groups, the scoping of income generating projects, the coordination of submission bids (for high-quality capital, education, and research) and supporting further key multidisciplinary research themes.

About You
Due to the nature of the requirements for the Environment & Health workstream, on this occasion we are only seeking a candidate with experience of project management / support within a higher education environment.

You will see our role as an opportunity to further develop your career portfolio in a faculty that has clear aims and within a role that will support multiple objectives including to improve the health outcomes of our community.

Your existing planning and implementation skills will provide assurance to senior colleagues about project delivery and outcomes. Your engaging style will ensure that the diversity of interests of stakeholders are captured, whilst ensuring that all relevant contributors are aware of the input and time required from them to ensure the projects and initiatives have an effective outcome.

Our Benefits
We believe in supporting our colleagues. Alongside the competitive salary for this post, we offer a range of benefits, work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.

Our Commitment
QMUL’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointments processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
