The function supports a variety of technologies that make it possible for and improve the efficiency of the entire institution. You will supply first-line support for SOAS stakeholders on all IT services personally, by means of telephone or electronically.

About the Department
The IT Directorate offers a series of important infotech services supporting the knowing, research, administrative and business activities of the University– consisting of ~ 45 irreversible personnel arranged into three unique locations, IT Service Delivery, Enterprise Applications and Business Change & & IT Governance.
About the Role
The Service Desk Analyst offers advice, assistance and support to others (e.g. staff, trainees, coworkers and so on) connecting to the use of IT systems based on an existing thorough knowledge and understanding of general IT systems with a focus on Microsoft 365 (Office 365) and cloud services. The function holder will be expected to assist with different creative tasks consisting of the modifying of taped video and publishing of training resources and material.
You will act as the first point of contact for the delivery of technical assistance to trainees and personnel and have a detailed understanding and working knowledge of SOAS’ innovation. They will work within a recognized policy/procedural structure and will identify when changes/modifications are needed and will report these through close intermediary with their line manager.
You will be expected to use imagination, effort and analytical abilities to individually deal with and resolve IT associated service requests, occurrences and problems, and expected to advance recommendations/contribute to the management of more complex circumstances or longer-term problems.
About you
You will require to demonstrate:
- Relevant experience demonstrating proficiency in Information Systems roles.
- Experience relating to hardware.
- Experience relating to Microsoft Windows and Mac OS.
- Experience connecting to using and supporting others to use the Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience of following existing procedures within IT environments.
- Ability to install equipment such as computer, printer, docking station etc.
- . Capability to problem fix and find ideal M365 platform services to support the user experience.
- Experience in customer support and ability to adapt to modifications and local environment.
- Ability to work well with other staff member
