Senior user experience engineer post offers an exciting opportunity for someone to play a key role in in the International Brain Laboratory (www.internationalbrainlab.com, IBL), a large-scale international collaboration in brain research.
The IBL combines the efforts of approximately 50 scientists in 20 laboratories toward understanding the brain-wide basis of a complex behaviour.
About the role
Salary: UCL grade 9 (£61,923 – 67,259 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance)
Duration: 2 years in the first instance
The Senior User Experience Engineer will support both experimental and theoretical work through the entire lifecycle of data, including acquisition, analysis, and modelling with a particular role in ensuring dissemination of data and visualization tools to the broader neuroscience community.
The post holder will work with scientists in our member labs to develop and ensure the smooth running of all software and hardware systems. This will require travel to member labs to solve problems that cannot be solved remotely. The post holder will also be responsible for project-wide IT functions such as system administration, account control and website design. As this is a distributed collaboration, much of the work is remote. However, the candidate should be prepared to travel to all partner sites.
About you
The successful candidate will have strong programming ability in Python, experience of Linux and Windows systems administration and experience of team programming and version control systems (e.g. git). A full personal specification is listed in the job description.
