An exciting opportunity has arisen for the post of Senior Teaching and Learning Administrator in the Department of Space and Climate Physics, University College London. The Department is a research and teaching department, with a particular emphasis on space instrumentation. The Department offers four MSc programmes (MSc in Space Science and Engineering, MSc in Systems Engineering Management, MSc in Technology Management and an MSc in Management of Complex projects). In addition the Department runs an Apprenticeship MSc in Systems Engineering which commenced in September 2019 and an MSc Apprenticeship in Transformation Leadership which commenced in September 2020. The TMG oversees the running of the Department’s three MSc programmes as well as the two Apprenticeship programmes.
About the role
The role will specialise in administering the Department’s apprenticeship teaching portfolio, ensuring effective procedures are documented and adopted for dealing with all aspects including engagement with employers and individual students/apprentices, applications, exams and progression and quality assurance (including quality assurance and understanding apprenticeship funding rules). The post will lead in achieving a high quality and timely service to current and prospective students/apprentices and staff. A significant part of this role will involve arranging and holding on a regular basis short progress review meetings with each apprentice, their designated UCL tutor and their employer representative.
About you
The successful candidate is expected to have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (Including Mathematics and English Language) or equivalent, or having acquired relevant experience and educated to A level standard (including A-C in 2 subjects), or equivalent experience. To have experience of apprenticeship programme administration is essential for this post.
