
The College of Business, Arts and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint a Senior Student Programmes Administrator to join our Taught Programmes Office (TPO), which oversees the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes delivered by the Departments of Arts and Humanities, Education and Social and Political Sciences. Our students rely on the TPO as their first point of contact in relation to their academic studies.
Working with and leading a team in the TPO open plan office environment, your main duties will involve:
- Academic programme administration and support for the Department of Education;
- Day to day maintenance of our student records;
- Dealing with student enquiries in person, over the phone, via live chat and by email;
- Monitor the teams’ reception duties and provide second line support;
- Organising the teams’ workload in relation to the department’s assessment cycle;
- Processing student assessments, extended submission deadlines and results in accordance with policy and regulation;
- Secretary to Committees, Panels and Examination Boards – organising meetings, preparing agendas, taking minutes and following up on actions;
- Working closely with academic staff at all levels to support teaching and learning.
This is a team leadership role and therefore you will need to demonstrate excellent administrative, organisational and communication skills as well as good numeracy and written English. You must be highly proficient in using IT systems, such as a student record system or eLearning portal and Microsoft packages. As this is a student facing role excellent customer service skills are essential.
You should have experience of working in a team and in a customer service environment.
