This is an exciting new opportunity for a researcher with a post-graduate degree (Masters and/or Doctorate) to make a crucial impact on mental health prevention and community engagement, leading the research and evaluation of a pan south London mental health prevention and recovery programme.

Interview date – Friday 24th June

Responsibility for the South London Listens (SLL) research and evaluation programme, reporting to an expert advisory group led by Professor Derek Bolton and Professor Crispin Day.

Developing impact evaluation framework projects across four priority areas: (i) social isolation loneliness and digital inclusion; (ii) work and wages; (iii) children, young people and parental mental health; and (iv) access to mental heath services for migrant and refugees communities.

Responsibility for implementation and management of mixed-methods mental health research. Specifically oversee two research projects:

  • Be Well Mental Health Champions Programme which gives people living in South London greater confidence in understanding and responding to mental health issues, and supports institutions to become places where people can speak openly about their mental health, get the support they need, and build relationships with the NHS and local authorities.
  • Community Embedded Worker Pilot, putting senior mental health practitioners into community organisations to build trust and provide support for refugee, migrant and diaspora and UK Minority Ethnic (UKME) communities who face barriers to accessing services.

Communicating the programme to internal and external audiences, including NHS commissioners and clinicians, community organisations, funders and policy makers.

This post holder will be embedded within the South London Listens team, within the Communications directorate. But will work widely with colleagues across the Trust and with clinical and community partners delivering South London Listens projects to coordinate evaluation of the work across the programme.
