To carry out PPM (Preventative Planned Maintenance) and reactive tasks of a carpentry and civil engineering nature to ensure that all College staff, students and visitors across the College estate are provided with an efficient and responsive service and a safe working environment.
In order to be successful in this role you will have a good working knowledge of health and safety and other relevant law, the ability to survey works, list and order materials required for tasks and Estates carpentry knowledge in a repair and maintenance background. As Birkbeck is an ‘evening university’ we have a flexible working pattern to cover the evening shift, and the postholder will also be required to be part of the on-call out of hours rota.

Grade 5 of the College’s London Pay Scale which is £30,190 rising to £34,343 per annum.
The salary quoted is on the College’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
