
The Department of English at the University of Geneva, Switzerland, invites applications for a Senior Lecturer (Maître d’Enseignement et de Recherche) in Contemporary Postcolonial Literature in the English-Speaking World.
Job Profile and Required Professional Experience
The aim of this post is to continue the development of a program of teaching and research in contemporary postcolonial literature in the anglophone world. The successful candidate will have a PhD in contemporary literature in English with a specialization in anglophone world literatures, and have already produced high-quality internationally-recognised publications in the field. Experience of teaching contemporary literature at university level is also a requirement.
The role
This 100% post consists of 6 hours of teaching per week at BA and Masters level. The successful candidate will manage the teaching of contemporary anglophone postcolonial literatures. S/he will also contribute to the teaching of first year students, supervise masters theses and potentially supervise doctoral theses, and will participate in the doctoral school in English Literature (CUSO). The candidate will produce publications of international standing, and apply for research grants. S/he will also take on administrative duties at departmental and faculty level.
Start Date
01.08.2024 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Salary
Class 23/00 to 23/22 (CHF 120,894.- Ã CHF 163,452.- per year).
Pension Scheme
Teaching Staff at the University of Geneva have a compulsory affiliation to the CPEG (Caisse de Prévoyance de l’Etat de Genève).
