
The School of Engineering is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in the Chemical Engineering portfolio. The successful candidate will take an important role in the development and delivery of teaching and research in this area. Applicants must have the potential, or proven ability, to develop internationally recognised research, have excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, they will also need to have experience in programme development and enhancement. We are looking for applicants with experience in Chemical Engineering with teaching knowledge in one or more of the following areas:
- Process Design: optimisation, systems thinking and sustainable design.
- Development and running of design exercises
- Safety in the Process Industries
- Engineering of Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG, e.g. Pharma, Food, Cosmetics)
- Biochemical Engineering especially pharmaceutical engineering
Preference will be given to candidates who combine excellence in teaching with demonstrated capacity to conduct novel, interdisciplinary engineering research that will expand and complement the School of Engineering’s research strengths. A particular and growing strength of the school is food engineering. However, we are equally interested in sustainable and renewable energy generation and storage solutions, and we welcome Applications from candidates with these skills. However, all other areas of research will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
