The Role
As a Senior Lecturer in Business and Management, you will demonstrate excellence in subject knowledge, and research informed teaching and learning. You will have responsibility for important but relatively standardised projects, and will normally undertake aspects such as teaching, supervision, module/course leadership, academic administration, personal tutoring and marking. You will be expected to assume a leadership role, ensure currency in delivery, and keep up-to-date with the latest academic and industry trends and work on developing the subject as part of the University’s curriculum.
As our London Campus grows, The role holder will undertake teaching and a portfolio of modules with module leadership and course director responsibilities. The role holder is expected to make a demonstrable contribution to core Coventry University London strategies, and to meet organisational objectives and KPIs. Teaching is required across 3 semesters, each Semester is 11 teaching weeks and we have 3 intakes, September, January and May.
Qualifications Required
PhD (or equivalent) in the relevant subject area or undertake the last stage of your PhD, or if a good Honours Degree and/or master’s degree if from Professional practice background with appropriate professional qualifications and/or membership that might be considered as equivalent to a PhD and a Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Have experience of student-centred teaching in business and management in UK Universities.

You will have excellent planning and organisational skills and the ability to deliver learning activities. You will be able to show evidence of scholarly activity as demonstrated by peer reviewed journal publications, and conference participation, and ensure that you continue to update knowledge and expertise and contribute to innovation and development in your discipline or area of specialism.
Our Successful Candidate will hold the following:
- A PhD in relevant subject area
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate complex and conceptual ideas to a range of groups.
- Competent in technologies and software programmes/packages relevant to the subject area, including various VLE Platforms (Aula).
- The role holder is expected to make a demonstrable contribution to core Coventry University London strategies, and to meet organisational objectives and KPIs.
