
The Opportunity
As Senior Lecturer (Coordinator) Diploma in Professional Studies, you will be responsible for coordinating DPS across the School of Design at CCW within the subject areas of Textiles, Graphic Design, Illustration, Product & Furniture Design, Interior Design and Interior Spatial Design. You will work collaboratively with a variety of teams, liaising with other academics on the courses to ensure that students manage the transition between their BA studies and the year in Diploma successfully.
You will also work directly with the Interior Futures Programme team, deploying specialist expertise to develop pedagogy and external industry links in innovative and critical directions across BA Interior Design and BA Interior and Spatial Design. You will oversee and coordinate the introduction and preparation stage of the DPS for design students, introducing the DPS to students in the Autumn term, and delivering lectures, seminars and 1:1 tutorials in the Spring and Summer terms. You will be able to mentor and advise students on placement opportunities, as well as sign off associated placement paperwork.
About You
To inspire and advise students, you must be an authority in your field, with experience and knowledge of industry-based learning, particularly in the field of design. You will maintain strong links with art and design institutions and practitioners and be able to demonstrate experience of building collaborative links with institutions and employers. You will have a passion for, and experience of, developing innovative and inclusive pedagogy.
We are looking for a clear and concise communicator with the ability to adapt your communication style to suit different stakeholders associated with the role. Advanced IT skills are essential. You will be a keen problem solver able to analyse routine data and produce accurate reports where necessary.
