About the Role
You will lead Queen Mary Innovation Ltd.’s work in the Humanities and Social Sciences, using commercial tools to create sustainable impact from HSS research, including not-for-profit and social enterprises. You will encourage academic colleagues to work with you to scale up the use of their research, developing and teaching new methods of commercialisation to those around you.
About You
You are an experienced technology transfer manager with a passion for bringing humanities and social science research outputs to the marketplace. You will understand intellectual property and be able to put it to use through licensing or corporate structures, with experience of business models suitable for generating social impact. Organised and a good communicator, you will be able to influence the growth of a commercial culture in the humanities and social sciences, including good knowledge of not-for-profit mechanisms to deliver social benefit. Experience of raising funds for social ventures will allow you to build a portfolio of projects, supporting academics across the HSS faculty to achieve their impact goals.

About Queen Mary
At Queen Mary University of London, we believe that a diversity of ideas helps us achieve the previously unthinkable.
Throughout our history, we’ve fostered social justice and improved lives through academic excellence. And we continue to live and breathe this spirit today, not because it’s simply ‘the right thing to do’ but for what it helps us achieve and the intellectual brilliance it delivers.
We continue to embrace diversity of thought and opinion in everything we do, in the belief that when views collide, disciplines interact, and perspectives intersect, truly original thought takes form.
