About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scholarly Communications Manager in Library, Archives and Learning Services (LALS) at University of East London. Working across the Docklands and Stratford Campuses, you will develop and lead our programme of support for the university’s research, working closely with the Research Office.
A member of the Content and Digital Environments team, you will manage and promote the university’s scholarly content and research data, including developing our institutional repository. You will champion open research across the university, developing and leading training of researchers to ensure compliance with funder policies and reporting on repository activity to relevant committees. You will have line management responsibility for a small team and work with other LALS team members to deliver outstanding services to our diverse community of students and staff.
About You
To succeed, you will have an excellent understanding of current developments in the UK scholarly communications landscape, including institutional repositories and repository software; open access publishing; the requirements of UKRI (especially relating to the REF) and research data management. You will have demonstrable experience of successfully influencing and negotiating with a range of key contacts, both cross-institution and externally.
You will have excellent digital skills, including an understanding of library management systems or research systems, and be able to produce and analyse management information. Your experience of line managing, and motivating staff is an advantage.
