About the Role
The Risk and Governance Manager is a role that is responsible for establishing and maintaining the IT governance framework, defining risk and governance processes, including how process owners are identified to ensure that IT systems and information assets are adequately protected.
Using significant level of specialist expertise in IT Risk and Governance, responsible for ensuring a robust and fit for purpose risk and governance framework exists across IT service to deliver high quality, robust, resilient, responsive and secure College wide IT services, providing customer focused support, guidance and technical solutions to ensure delivery of the IT Services and Colleges Strategic goals.
The role holder will be educated to degree level or have a professional qualification in an IT subject and be ITIL foundation qualified or able to demonstrate management and operational experience using an appropriate best practice framework.
The individual is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and reporting on governance and compliance risks and issues in a manner that meets the University’s regulatory and legal requirements.
The individual will have a high level of expertise in the implementation and management of fit for purpose and robust Risk and Governance policies and processes across organisation wide IT Services and activities. The ideal candidate will have well-developed problem-solving skills, seeking cost effective solutions, managing resources to suit changing priorities, with the confidence in managing multiple priorities, to achieve successful implementation.
About the Department
The IT Services function sits within the Professional Services Department and is part of the Professional Services group that enables and facilitates the success of our students and academics. Along with other Professional Services areas, IT Services seeks to deliver value for money through technology, efficiency, economy, effectiveness and equity.
You will be reporting to the Assistant Director, Office of the CIO.

The post is based at Department W, 81 Mile End Road. It is full time and permanent. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £52,549 – £58,595 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
