The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education in public and global health. We seek an experienced social scientist and qualitative researcher to help lead in qualitative longitudinal research in a participatory approach with young people affected by Long Covid in the UK. The postholder will be experienced in qualitative methods as well as conversant in social theories as applied to health. Ideally, the post-holder has a track record of experience in coproduced research with young people.  It is essential that the postholder has a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in social science discipline, including sociology, anthropology, science and technology studies, cultural studies, youth studies.

The post is full-time, 1 FTE and is available from 1 September 2023 (or as soon as possible), and is fixed term and funded for 18 months. 

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947 – £49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
