The University of Westminster is looking for a part-time research associate to work on the Travel and Places Survey, funded by Transport for London. This is a longitudinal survey which has just completed its first wave of follow-up data collection, with over 4,500 participants. The postholder will work with Dr. Jamie Furlong and Professor Rachel Aldred on the project, cleaning, coding, and analysing the dataset. They will contribute to write-up including a report for TfL and academic journal articles. The postholder will have strong expertise and experience in quantitative analysis, including using specialist software, ideally R.
The postholder will be part of the University’s Active Travel Academy, which sits within the School of Architecture and Cities. Established in late 2019, the ATA brings together a range of disciplines and perspectives on active travel and hosts research projects supported by different funders. It organises events and activities, such as the regular ‘Walking at Teatime’ and ‘Cycling at Teatime’ series and hosts the open access journal Active Travel Studies.
We welcome applications from those with relevant research experience and expertise gained outside as well as inside the university sector. Disabled candidates are encouraged to contact the project’s Principal Investigator, Dr. Jamie Furlong, if they would like to discuss access requirements related to the position or the interview. For these and other informal enquiries about the role, please email Dr. Jamie Furlong at [email protected].
