We are seeking a highly organised individual with strong interpersonal skills, to join our team as a Research Associate (RA) within the School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University. Working as part of the Centre for Civil and Building Services Engineering (CCiBSE), you will be working on a recently funded Innovate UK (IUK) project on hydrogen storage and energy systems.

About you

The project involves a number of industry partners, and the objective is to design, develop and demonstrate an innovative hydrogen storage and energy system that can operate effectively at different operating conditions. You will be responsible for the detailed design of the test facilities required for the project, calibration and installation of instrumentation and data logging systems, experimental investigation, and the development of system thermodynamic models. You will have the opportunity to publish and disseminate your work through written reports, leading international refereed journal papers, and oral presentations at national and international conferences and events.

The skills and experience you will need to be successful

You will have a background in energy or mechanical engineering with a good knowledge and understanding of industrial waste heat; heat exchangers; thermodynamic cycles; heat and mass transfer; instrumentation; monitoring and analysis of complex processes; as well as experience in thermodynamic modelling. You will have the ability to scope and deliver research projects, with strong IT skills, and you will be highly organised with strong communication skills.
