Full-time, fixed-term: Anticipated start Sept 2022 for 3 years

We are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Research Assistant to join the Water & Environmental Engineering group led by Professor Evina Katsou at Brunel University London.

The post is an exciting opportunity for talented and experienced individuals to work within a large multidisciplinary research environment in collaboration with a large consortium including 40 academic and business partners from Europe.

The successful candidate will work on a wide portfolio of research projects on water and environmental engineering. Specifically the focus will be on sustainability and circularity measurement and assessment; modelling; development and application of data analytics / AI techniques to optimise the performance of water / wastewater treatment processes and support the utilities’ carbon neutrality plans. The research introduces new methods and techniques to find trends and patterns in data and derive insight about the process performance. This insight is combined by domain knowledge to create powerful tools for decision making in environmental systems. The position requires strong engineering, mathematical and analytical skills supported by evidence of your previous activities and responsibilities.

Educational background should be in one or a combination of Environmental Engineering, Water Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Control, Process Engineering, Environmental Sciences.

The successful candidate will have either a MSc degree, PhD or equivalent.
