Research Assistant or Research Fellow in Survey Data & Nutrition

The postholder will join two project teams – the Micronutrient Action Policy Support (MAPS) project, and the Innovative Methods and Metrics for Nutrition Actions (IMMANA) project. The postholder will work closely with MAPS colleagues to process household survey data and conduct analyses of population micronutrient deficiency risks and intervention scenarios. With the Agriculture, Nutrition and Health (ANH) Academy – one of the IMMANA project workstreams – the postholder will coordinate a learning hub to support effective use of household survey data for nutrition research.

The postholder will have a postgraduate degree in public health nutrition or a related field with advanced quantitative skills. They will have experience in analysing survey data for nutrition or related research topics, with demonstrated fluency working in the R environment. Experience of conducting peer-to-peer training in data science and statistical analyses is highly desirable. Further particulars are included in the Job Description.

The post is full-time and fixed term until 31 October 2023. The post is with the MAPS project (funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, BMGF) and the IMMANA project (funded by BMGF and the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office) and is available immediately.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 5 (Research Assistant) in the range £35,377-£40,611 or Grade 6 (Research Fellow) in the range £40,611-£46,119 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based at Keppel Street, London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
