Postdoc in the field of Medium and High Entropy Alloys

Spread the love

The Section for Materials and Surface Engineering at the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) invites applications for an 18-month Postdoc position in the field of medium and high entropy alloys. If you are establishing your career as scientist and you are looking for the best possible foundation for fulfilling your ambitions, it is the right place for you.

Responsibilities and qualifications

As a postdoc you will work on a project, where the goal is to produce medium and high entropy alloys with tailored combinations of strength and ductility via thermomechanical processing. The work will include casting, thermomechanical treatments, mechanical testing, sample preparation and microstructure characterization using various electron microscopy techniques. You will be responsible for conducting these experiments and making correlations between measured microstructural parameters and mechanical behavior.

We are interested in applicants with a strong background in physical metallurgy and mechanical engineering, who have significant practical experience in scanning and transmission electron microscopies, electron diffraction (both SEM- and TEM-based), X-ray diffraction and tensile testing. Excellent communication skills in English (both writing and speaking) are essential.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
