PhD position– Cognitive Psychology and private distinctions

The present position belongs to the research job moneyed by the Swiss National Science Foundation entitled “The existing challenge in attentional-control research: Establishing trustworthy and legitimate measures”. The purpose of this 4-year project is to examine attentional control (also referred as cognitive control, executive functions, or inhibition). This cognitive ability permits us to focus on appropriate info while ignoring unimportant information so that we can pursue our current objectives. In this task, a number of studies will be carried out to investigate the reliability and validity of typical along with unique measures of attentional control.

Your jobs

• preparation, shows, and application of laboratory- and online-based research studies
• appropriate information processing and analysis using current and innovative statistical approaches (e.g., structural equation modeling, diffusion modeling)
• publication of results in peer-reviewed journals and their discussion at nationwide and global scientific conferences

Your profile

• excellent Master’s degree in psychology (ideally in cognitive psychology, differential psychology, or psychological research study approaches)
• excellent methodological and statistical skills as well as great knowledge in cognitive psychology and/or in cognitive specific distinctions
• strong in conceptual thinking, in information analysis (preferably in R), and in composing
• great English skills
• ability to work independently and by yourself initiative, and exceptional teamplayer
