The Scuola Superiore Meridionale (SSM) – School for Advanced Studies is an Italian interdisciplinary international school of higher education and research established by the Italian Government in Naples in 2019. The SSM admits undergraduate students by examination, and currently runs ten PhD programmes in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Theoretical and Applied Sciences and Technology.
For the academic year 2022-2023, the SSM invites applications for 70 fully-funded scholarships (of which 24 are funded by the EU via the Ministry of University) in the following PhD programs all led by panels of experts in their fields:

For each program, the SSM offers seven fully funded scholarships of EUR 19,000 per year.
All PhD programmes are 4 years long (1 year of coursework followed by a 3-year research project in the area of choice).
A five-year university degree, equivalent to a Master qualification, is required to participate in the selection. Admission to each PhD programme is through a competitive assessment of qualifications plus an interview for the shortlisted candidates.
