
The Student Wellbeing Service at Kingston University is seeking to recruit 3 proactive and experienced Mental Health Advisers to contribute to the Mental Health and Disability Service. This will involve providing specialist advice and support to students with disabilities, in particular mental health conditions, to enable them to access their studies successfully and encourage academic progress and success.
In this student facing role,you will maintain a case work portfolio providing continuing support for individual applicants and students as appropriate. This may involve regular reviews and updates of provision, case conferences with Faculty staff and central services to ensure that students are able to access their studies effectively throughout their time at Kingston University.
The Person
We are looking to recruit proactive Mental Health Advisers with a substantial knowledge of issues affecting disabled students, in particular mental health conditions, within higher education and you will have the relevant experience to provide specialist advice and support to those individuals. You will have well developed interview, case working and practitioner skills and the ability to liaise with internal and external support services as appropriate.
You will either have experience of working within higher education or another appropriate setting demonstrating the ability to maintain a case work portfolio. This may involve regular reviews and updates of provision, case conferences with Faculty staff and central services to ensure that students are able to access their studies effectively throughout their time at Kingston University.
Directorate/Function
This Directorate plays a vital role in the retention and success of students at Kingston University. By taking a holistic, cohesive approach to the effective provision of services to our 17,000 students, we aim to enhance their experience through support that is effective and also responsive to their changing needs.
We cover three main areas of responsibility – Student Life, Student Wellbeing and the First Response and Administration team.

There are 3 positions available, will be full time, permanent contracts and 1 will be a full time, fixed term contract for 2 months. All 3 positions will have a starting salary of £35,853 per annum.
