Our Information and Library Services Directorate delivers award winning IT services and support, library, academic and digital skills and learning enhancement to staff and students across the university. Our digital mission is to ensure everyone in our community is equipped to effectively use digital services, data and technology with confidence, efficiency and creativity in their learning, teaching, research and organisational support.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the award-winning Stockwell Street Library team at the University of Greenwich. You will deliver excellent customer service to users and support the University’s goal of becoming a leading London institution.

The User Services team consists of 12 staff working on a rota system across service points. We also employ student workers and outsourced staff to cover extended and 24 hour opening.

You will be an excellent communicator, collaborator and relationship builder. As a team player and leader, you will motivate colleagues and users. Working with the Library Manager and Weekend Services Coordinator, you will ensure high-quality customer service.

You will work with Facilities Management colleagues to manage the environment and have experience in customer service, complaint handling and managing user expectations/behaviour. With the senior management team, you will develop initiatives to continuously improve user services.

Managing Customer Support Assistants, student workers and outsourced staff for extended and 24-hour services is an important responsibility, including regular meetings and appraisals.

Excellent IT skills are essential. This full-time permanent role (35 hours/week) is based at Greenwich Campus with occasional work at Avery Hill and Medway. Flexibility for extended hours is required.

The successful candidate will be Educated to degree standard or demonstrable customer care experience within a relevant Library, educational management or business discipline
