Part Time: 29.20 hours per week (80% FTE)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a dynamic team and work directly in support of UCL’s students, staff and external visitors.  As a member of the Main Library Customer Services team, you will deliver excellent customer care for all library customers. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and proven experience in the delivery of high quality customer services and a commitment to customer care that not only meets but exceeds customer expectations. Our team takes pride in providing the best possible user experience throughout our library and learning spaces.  You will work at a designated library help point and throughout the main library space, as well as look after library spaces on campus.

You will assist in maintaining a conductive learning environment, answer enquiries, and support the use of a wide range of library self-service and IT facilities. You will work collaboratively with team members to share good practice and encourage knowledge exchange between colleagues to facilitate continuous improvement within library services. This role includes some manual handling (e.g. lifting books and crates), for which appropriate training will be provided.

Please note this is an on-campus role. It is not suitable for regular remote working.

The successful applicant will have proven experience of customer service, using their initiative and be an excellent team player. We’re also looking for someone who has exceptional administrative skills, so attention to detail, excellent IT, numeracy and written skills are also essential for this post.
