
The School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) is seeking to appoint a new Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence who will develop and deliver teaching and scholarship activities on the Hainan Joint Educational Institute (JEI), Queen Mary University of London’s latest transnational education institute in PR China.
This post will be on a Teaching and Scholarship contract and the postholder will be expected to engage in pedagogical work and contribute to the administration of the Hainan JEI. This post is based in London, but the postholder will be required to travel to China to deliver teaching, as allocated by the Hainan JEI Executive Vice Dean.
About You
You should have a PhD in Physics, Maths, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science or a related subject taught on the Hainan JEI. Having teaching experience, you should be able to design, develop and deliver high-quality teaching and assessment in at least two of the following areas: Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Computational Creativity.
You should also have clear and ambitious plans for future scholarship activities that aim at achieving excellence in student experience and education and have the ambition to influence the education landscape and create world-wide impact with your scholarship work.

This is a full-time, permanent appointment, with an expected start date of September 2023. The starting salary for Lecturers will be Grade 5/6, in the range of £47,178 – £58,595 per annum and Grade 7 for Senior Lecturer in the range of £61,896 – £69,114 per annum. All salaries are inclusive of London Allowance.
