General description
The Department of Psychology of Neapolis University Pafos is seeking applications to fill two positions in Psychology at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor. Candidates are expected to teach a wide variety of basic and advanced courses in their discipline. Full-time faculty members are also expected to attend faculty meetings and university events, serve on committees and engage in academic scholarship and professional development activities.
Areas of specialization
The applicants should be qualified to teach either in an applied psychology field (clinical, counseling, school psychology) or a theoretical field (developmental, health, educational psychology).
Qualifications and experience
For the rank of Lecturer, the required qualifications are the following:
The applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Psychology in one of the specified areas of study and have strong research skills.
For the rank of Assistant Professor, the required qualifications are the following:
The applicants should hold a doctoral degree in Psychology in one of the specified areas of study and ideally have a minimum of three (3) years in total of University work or equivalent, after acquisition of a PhD, or holding a position at the rank of Lecturer at another recognized University.
Applicants are expected to have demonstrated a high level of academic competence, have experience of leading academic research, good teaching skills and extensive teaching experience, as well as strong international visibility within the academic community. In addition, experience of doctoral education, applying for external funding, international research co-operation and academic expert assignments, as well as experience of participation in administrative tasks within an academic department, faculty or university are expected.
The successful candidate is expected to show evidence of strong teaching skills and/or professional experience and a commitment to research excellence. He/she will teach at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate levels and also contribute to the design and development of the Department’s programs.
