The Role

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated group of academics in the Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences who are behind a varied programme of research-led, accredited courses, complementing most aspects of the pharmaceutical industry, from drug discovery through to market authorisation.

The successful applicant will have academic and preferably industrial experience in pharmaceutics and drug delivery. Some experience of pharmaceutical regulatory affairs would be welcomed. It is expected that you will establish an independent research programme in a field related to one of the above. You will plan, deliver and assess a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the above and related areas, using a variety of approaches to deliver a vibrant education that can be translated into real-world skills. This will include classroom and practical work in our modern, well equipped laboratories.

The Person

In addition to your undergraduate degree, you will hold a doctorate in a relevant discipline and ideally bring with you a recognised teaching or learning qualification. You will also be flexible and responsive to the academic and administrative needs of the department. On a personal level, your core motivation will be to deliver exceptional teaching, research and support to our students. You will use your experience to promote integrated professional practice across everything you do, imparting practical scientific knowledge and professional skills to students that they will take with them in their future careers.

By the end of the probation period, you must have achieved the relevant level of UKPSF recognition (if this has not already been obtained). For those new to teaching, this will be through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching and for those experienced in teaching, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.

The Faculty

Employability, practical skills and life skills – these are the three core areas of focus in the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry at Kingston University. We live in a world where there is so much information out there about vital subjects such as cancer biology, pharmacy and sport and nutrition, but it is the real world application of these areas of study that really makes our school stand out.

Interviews are expected to be held Monday 8th August 2022.
