
About the role
Applications are invited for a Lectureship (Teaching and Scholarship Role) in Mathematics. As the successful candidate, you will lead on the development and delivery of lectures related to professional skills, programming (in Python or R) and will develop and strengthen our statistics or finance portfolio and initiative to improve the student experience. About us
The School is part of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, which comprises of five schools and two institutes. It has large and popular undergraduate and graduate programmes, and aims to continue to expand its research profile as well as its study programmes across both UG and PGT.
The School is currently undergoing an organisational change, and will be organised into 5 Centres. This position will be based in the Centre for Mathematical Education. Research Centres include the Centre for Combinatorics, Algebra & Number Theory, the Centre for Geometry, Analysis and Gravitation, the Centre for Dynamical Systems, Statistical Physics and Complex Systems, and the Centre for Data Science, Statistics and Probability.
The School comprises 85 academic staff and associate lecturers, 16 research assistants and 14 members of professional services staff. The School is home to around 80 PhD students, and approximately 1,000 undergraduates and 100 master level students. Our areas of growth with greatest need of teaching support are in applied statistics, finance and computing, and we would expect the candidate to make significant contributions to one or more of these areas.

The post is full-time and permanent with an expected start date of 1 September 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. Starting salary will be in the range of £47,178 – £58,595 per annum inclusive of London Allowance, subject to experience and qualifications.
