The Opportunity
The Department of Tourism, Sport and Hotel Management is recruiting for two Lecturer positions with teaching and research expertise in either major and mega events, tourism data analytics or sustainable destinations.
Candidates will be expected to teach across a breadth of courses within the School and be responsible for:
- fostering an outstanding teaching experience for our students, including coordinating and conducting lectures and tutorials at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and engagement in continuous teaching innovation and improvement
- supervising undergraduate, graduate, or postgraduate students engaged in coursework or smaller research projects
- contributing to the advancement of knowledge through a balanced research portfolio of high-quality outputs
- undertaking research with the potential to impact policy and practice in the wider community
- building and fostering partnerships with industry, government, collaborators at other universities and other stakeholders that contribute to teaching and research engagement in the wider community.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have a PhD qualification in a relevant discipline or field, along with the following:
- industry-relevant experience in a related field
- the ability to network effectively to ensure working relationships are improved both internally and with government, industry, and community stakeholders
- knowledge, skills and leadership in teaching and curriculum/program development at the tertiary education level, and a proven ability in the administration of university courses and programs
- demonstrated success in attracting external research funding, evidence of a competitive research track record consistent with discipline benchmarks, and experience in partnering and collaborating with leading institutions in your field.
What we can offer
There are two continuing, full time positions based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
The full time equivalent base salary will be Lecturer, Level B $105,144 – $124,862 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be in the range $123,019 – $146,089 per annum.
