This is a fixed term, part time appointment until 31 August 2024 (0.5 FTE).

The Department of Philosophy at Birkbeck invites applications for a fixed-term Lectureship (Teaching and Education) in European Philosophy.

You will provide undergraduate and postgraduate teaching on the Philosophy of Nietzsche and themes in 20th Century French and German Philosophy. You will also contribute to the teaching of Birkbeck’s Politics, Philosophy and History programme. The role may also involve supervising BA and PGT dissertation students.

You will also participate in academic administration as required.

You will have completed a PhD or equivalent qualification in Philosophy and have an academic record that shows clear evidence of potential to contribute to the University’s commitment to research-led teaching. You will have strong and relevant teaching experience.

Remuneration:

Lecturer Grade of the College’s London Pay Scale which is £41,348 rising to £56,881 per annum

The salary quoted will be pro-rata for this part time post and is on the College’s London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
