The Department of English Language and Literature invites applications for a part-time, permanent Lectureship in English Linguistics. The successful candidate will teach and conduct research in the linguistics of the English language and bring new areas of research to the Department. The expectation is also that they will actively apply for research grant funding and undertake administrative responsibilities within the Department.
The successful candidate will have a research interest and teaching experience in any area of English linguistics. Experience of teaching or research in the field of pragmatics would be an advantage, as would an ability to participate in the corpus linguistics research and knowledge exchange activities of the Survey of English Usage. UCL is committed to world-leading research, and successful candidate will have a proven record of high-quality publications in the field of English linguistics. We recognise that our understanding of ‘research’ is also diversifying, so an appreciation of less traditional research, impact and knowledge exchange could also be an advantage. Previous experience of teaching in higher education is essential.
