The Department of Education, Practice and Society (EPS) is a thriving multidisciplinary department at the UCL Institute of Education. It encompasses: (i) the domain areas of History, Philosophy and Sociology of Education; (ii) the fields of Comparative, International development, Further, Higher and Lifelong Education; and a number of research centres.
About the role
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer to teach and assess on the PGCE Further Education programme. The appointee will serve as a personal tutor and support the development of teachers through observation of teaching practice. Appointees may also be expected to contribute to other undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the faculty, as appropriate.
You will liaise with partner colleges to support the development of students in their teaching practice and be at the forefront of international developments in learning and teaching, including blended approaches to learning and innovative assessment methodologies. In addition, you will keep up to date with research in your specialist area and making links between your specialist interests and cognate interests elsewhere in UCL and more widely.
This post is on a part-time basis (0.50 FTE/ 18.25 hours per week).

About you
You will have a higher degree (MA/MSc/PhD) or equivalent relevant professional experience and have a teaching qualification (PGCE or Certificate of Education). You will have a recent experience of teacher education for the skills sector and the ability to teach successfully at higher education level.
In addition, you have experience of using online teaching and learning platforms (such as Moodle) and a variety of IT packages in a work environment.
