About the Role The School of Politics and International Relations and the Mile End Institute are happy to announce that we are seeking remarkable scholars to use up the position of Lecturer in British Politics.

The postholder will contribute to the intellectual life of the School, Institute, Faculty and University and the broader research study field of British Politics. They will work with a diverse neighborhood of colleagues and trainees to provide outstanding teaching research and engagement. The postholder will play an active function in establishing and providing the activities of the Mile End Institute.

About You

You will have a PhD (or equivalent) in Political Science/Public Policy or appropriate Social Sciences/Humanities area/ relevant expert qualification and/ or equivalent expert experience and should have a developing credibility for internationally excellent research study and a recognized record of premium publications. You will have shown ability to undertake public engagement activities. You will add to teaching and convening modules in the pertinent locations, use research guidance and contribute more broadly to mentor and research study within the School. You will have an understanding of the chances and challenges involved in teaching a diverse student friend.

About the School

The School of Politics and International Relations (SPIR) is a lively, collegial intellectual community including scholars from a series of disciplinary and methodological perspectives. It is house to a highly diverse accomplice of students and uses a broad-ranging and methodologically plural curriculum in the fields of Politics and International Relations. The Mile End Institute, collectively led by SPIR and the School of History in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, unites academics, politicians, policymakers, and the general public to discuss and debate the major difficulties facing the country in a fast-moving and ever-changing world.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus. It is full-time long-term consultation with an anticipated start date of 1st September 2022. The beginning salary will be Grade 5, in the variety of ₤ 43,069 – ₤ 45,479 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
