The Technology Enhanced Learning Team (TELT) is looking to appoint a new Learning Technology Support Assistant to join a talented team.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to assist with day-to-day support and training related activities of the TELT, including organisation and scheduling of student inductions, staff drop-ins and training sessions as well as other TELT events. The post holder will be the first point of call for technology enhanced support queries received via phone, Helpdesk or online chat and will also monitor the shared TELT inbox.  

The postholder will maintain sufficient knowledge to provide support for all centrally supported learning applications, liaising with the Learning Technology Officers (LTOs) and colleagues on the IT Services Service Desk, to provide a seamless service.   

This work is essential to the quality of the support received by all staff across Queen Mary University of London, to their own development as skilled practitioners, and thus to the quality of the student experience across Queen Mary University of London. 

About You

This post is considered an entry level Learning Technology post, and would suit someone early in their career or wanting to switch to Learning Technology.

The ideal candidate will:

  1. Be familiar with Moodle, and other learning technologies, at various user levels and should be able to work well under pressure.
  2. Have excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate simply and sympathetically with staff and students of all backgrounds and levels of aptitude who are new to learning technologies. 
  3. Have excellent technical skills, such that they can pick up new technologies independently,
  4. Be able to manage their workload so that deadlines are met and quality is maintained.

The post is based primarily at Department W, situated between the Mile End and Whitechapel Campuses in London, with some flexibility for remote working. It is a full time, permanent appointment.

The starting salary will be Grade 3, in the range of £ £28,208 – £34,733 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
