Learning and Engagement Officer
Salary from £37,197pa inclusive with potential to progress to £48,168pa inclusive of London allowance
This is an open ended appointment, subject to funding.
The Library is at the heart of LSE, one of the world’s greatest social science universities, and serves a vibrant community of students and staff in the centre of London. It has a strong reputation both nationally and internationally for its extensive collections, its high quality services and its involvement in innovative projects.
The Library is seeking to appoint an Learning and Engagement Officer to lead our engagement activities and continue the development of an exciting learning programme for schools and community groups.
The post is based in the Learning and Engagement team in Collections and Academic Services where you will work closely with colleagues from across the Library and the School to lead, maintain and develop public learning and engagement programmes that will engage schools and community groups with the collections, ensuring they are used as a learning resource by the widest possible audience. You will seek opportunities for engaging new audiences, lead the delivery of an external event programme and create learning resources for schools and community groups.
You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have experience of working in education and collection interpretation in the museum, heritage or higher education sector. You will be able to use and interpret collections creatively and accessibly to inspire, educate and inform different audiences. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be self-motivated and able to work under pressure. You will have excellent project management and team working skills.
