Why your role matters
The Lead Technology Translation will play a critical role in the establishment, ongoing management, and pro-active support for deploying university research outcomes and existing Intellectual Property in Electrification technologies. You’ll also play a lead role in the Technology Translation activity of a major Federal Government-funded program and have the opportunity to deliver research outcomes from these initiatives and translate them into impactful products and services.
The Organisation
Electrification is a critical component of UNSW’s contribution to The Australian Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (ATRaCE), a partnership between UNSW Sydney, the University of Newcastle and many critical Australian industries, will invest over $150M in translational projects and processes. The focus being on growing manufacturing in Australia to support the huge need for clean energy, electrification technologies. Electrification is also a focus of the NSW Government’s Decarbonisation Innovation Hub hosted at UNSW. Both of these schemes will generate many opportunities for translation of electrification technologies

Who you are
This role will require demonstrable expertise in research of electrification technologies, IP development, and an understanding of the development of innovation to impact. You are a researcher or engineer seeking to help a wide range of industry partners with their innovation pathways. You’ll also be able to demonstrate your people leadership, knowledge sharing and a strong set-up/start-up focus.
