About the Role

Working with the Head of Digital Communications and Planning, this role is responsible for the technical development and maintenance of Queen Mary’s website and related web presence, ensuring that the University’s web presence is informed by user need and meets supports the objectives of the University.

You will build and manage a team of six, who deliver technical development and maintenance of the Queen Mary website.

About You

The successful candidate will have experience both in technical web development, as well as strong stakeholder or client-facing experience. You will be solutions-focussed, and have experience working through technical challenges in a complex environment.

You will be comfortable developing excellent stakeholder relationships, and use your expertise and ability to negotiate good outcomes to get the best results.

As a digital professional, you will have a solid understanding of contemporary development methodologies, processes and platforms. You may also have some experience developing process improvements and increasing efficiencies.

You will also have some experience mentoring, leading or developing other team members.

Alongside your technical and professional experience, you will also be interested in furthering Queen Mary’s commitments to inclusivity and diversity, and be used to bringing a sense of positivity and enthusiasm to your previous roles.

About the Department

You will join a forward-thinking, solutions-focused team within the Marketing and Communications Directorate. Our directorate is responsible for raising the awareness and reputation of Queen Mary among its target audiences, and for increasing the quality and quantity of Queen Mary applicants. We collaborate with stakeholders, we support staff, students and prospective students to achieve more.

The post is based in Whitechapel in London. It is full-time permanent appointment, with an immediate start date. The starting salary will be Grade 6, in the range of £48,035 – £53,625 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
