The Finance and Research Administrator is a key role within the Division’s professional services team with responsibility for delivering an efficient and effective research administration service and ensuring the smooth running of day-today finance support. The post holder will have responsibility for supporting academics to cost and prepare applications for research funding; ensuring that the financial return for the Division is maximised; advising academics on internal and external funding opportunities and providing post-award management of grants. The post holder will also support the Division’s processes for consultancy funding as well as for annual budget proposals and forecasts.
The role holder will work closely with the Divisional Deputy Manager and the Divisional HR Manager, and take responsibility for the line management of the Division’s Finance Assistant. This post provides an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop or widen their skills in a range of areas. Training and professional development opportunities will be provided, and it may be possible for candidates to shadow other colleagues within the PS team to broaden their experience. The post offers an exciting opportunity for someone to play an important role in the Research and Finance functions of a highly successful and dynamic Division.

The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills, good numeracy skills and will be efficient, organised and have good attention to detail. They will have the ability to work under pressure and manage high volumes of processing while meeting essential deadlines. Experience of providing high quality Finance and Research support is required.
