Role summary

Metanoia Institute is the leading provider of fully accredited higher education in psychotherapy and counselling.  Metanoia Institute develops the next generation of professional counsellors and psychotherapists and provides placement opportunities and community engagement through the Metanoia Counselling and Psychotherapy Service (MCPS), a low-cost clinic. The Institute is registered with the OfS and is currently Validated through the University of Middlesex. Metanoia is in the process of obtaining its own Taught Degree Awarding Powers.  The vision of Metanoia Institute is to be fully acknowledged as the sector leader in this specialist area and to develop innovative entry, undergraduate and postgraduate courses for the professional area.  It aims also to develop sector relevant CPD programmes, to promote employability/entrepreneurship in counselling and psychotherapy.  The institute over the coming years is looking to diversify its student population and range of under and post graduate programmes with an aim to widening participation from different sections of society and drive inclusivity and equality within the psychotherapy field.  The successful candidate will be able to show experience of driving such agenda’s.

The Head of Faculty will report to the Director of Education and hold responsibility for the innovative development of the ‘Faculty as a leading provider of under and post-graduate, enabling a research culture, training, CPD, scholarly activity, employability and entrepreneurship.  The post holder will enhance the strength, standing and reputation of the Faculty as a world-class provider of counselling and psychotherapy qualifications and training. The successful person will be able to demonstrate a track record of successful leadership in Higher Education and knowledge of the regulatory requirements under OfS. Knowledge of psychotherapy, counselling and the work of professional bodies is an advantage but is not an essential requirement for this post.
