
About the role
Applications are invited for the post of China Operations Manager within the Faculty of Science & Engineering.
This post co-ordinates the professional services delivery across our four transnational programmes, working closely with the Directors of our four programmes in providing strategic and operational direction for our China Operations. The postholder will act as the Professional Services lead for budget setting and management for our transnational programmes. They will line manage the team of Professional Services staff involved in joint programmes which will require significant stakeholder engagement as the China Operations span all Schools in the Faculty
About You
Candidates should have demonstrable management experience, ideally in a Higher Education environment, with experience of managing a diverse team of professional staff, and of financial planning and budgeting, resource management, operational and strategic planning.
About the Faculty
The Faculty of Science and Engineering comprises of five Schools that deliver the research and education activity of the Faculty. The Faculty is focused on establishing itself as one of the leading Faculties for Science and Engineering in the UK. This was reflected in REF2021, where 97% of our research outputs were ranked as ‘internationally excellent’, with half classed as ‘world-leading’. The post-holder will work closely with colleagues in our five Schools to ensure our processes and delivery meet the needs of our students based in China.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full time permanent appointment, with an expected start date of November 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The starting salary will be Grade 7, in the range of £61,896-£69,114 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
