LSE’s Extended Education Unit is seeking an Operations Manager to join a busy team that facilitates the successful delivery of a portfolio of open enrolment short courses, Summer School and distance learning degree programmes.
With specific responsibility for issuing, receiving, logging and otherwise processing academic contracts across all the Unit’s programme areas, as well as overseeing the timely payment of teaching staff, the post-holder will work closely with colleagues from LSE’s central HR and Finance Divisions.
To successfully manage the above responsibilities, the Operations Manager must also make sure that casual staff have undergone the appropriate right to work checks in order that the School remains compliant with UKVI legislation. The Operations Manager is assisted by an Operations Assistant, who looks after routine contract logging and issuing tasks. The post-holder will be required to line manage the Operations Assistant – conducting regular one-to-one meetings and providing ad hoc training as necessary.
Candidates should have strong numeracy skills, with demonstrable Excel experience. Furthermore, a background in process-driven work with an enthusiasm for refining and/or enhancing existing procedures is desirable.
