
The Opportunity
University of the Arts London has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Events & Showcasing Officer to join our central Careers and Employability team as maternity cover.
The Events & Showcasing Officer will lead, plan, develop, and produce a variety of high impact extra-curricular enterprise and employability events to benefit the careers of UAL’s creative students and graduates.
The post holder will; programme the annual events and showcasing offer; coordinate all event logistics; initiate, build and maintain partnerships and relationships; oversee communications and marketing plans for events; recruit and direct event staff; and manage associated budgets.
They will lead and govern cross departmental event processes, templates and communications to ensure best practice, collaboration and cohesion.
Events are a mix of online, in person and hybrid, and include: talks and workshops, job and careers fairs, group exhibition stands at trade shows, awards and pitching events, and hackathons.
About You
You are an experienced events coordinator or manager, ideally with a knowledge of Employability and Enterprise Education in the HE Sector and knowledge and understanding of creative student and graduate’s professional development needs. You can manage multiple projects, and plan, prioritise and organise work to deliver events effectively and on time.
It is desirable that you have experience in the creative industries and have worked in an education environment or directly with students or graduates.
You are able to communicate professionally, compassionately and effectively, orally and in writing, with staff, partners, and students and graduates. You provide a positive and responsive experience and service. You should be able to work collaboratively in a team and with other professional groups, and be able to develop partnerships and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
You are flexible with a positive approach, and use your initiative or creativity to manage challenges, with the ability to deal with problems effectively and efficiently at live events.
