Editorial and Production Officer
Salary from £33,558 to £38,541 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £41,404 pa inclusive of London allowance

The Grantham Research Institute is a world-leading centre for the study of the economics and social sciences of climate change and other global environmental problems, based at the London School of Economics and Political Science.
The Editorial and Production Officer helps to deliver communications by the Institute and its associated projects (e.g. the Transition Pathway Initiative Centre and the Just Transition Finance Lab) by contributing to the delivery of high-quality, high-impact policy reports, web commentaries and other outputs aimed at decision-makers in the public, private and third sectors on climate change policy and other environmental issues.
The position requires very strong editorial skills, along with design and production skills and an understanding of brand application, with high attention to written and visual accuracy and detail, and the ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines. Candidates will have experience of the publications process and using suitable applications including Adobe InDesign, MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel (for formatting graphs), and preferably Illustrator and PhotoShop. With experience of copy-editing lengthy reports and short articles, proofreading and writing copy for the web, and applying professional formatting within set templates, the successful candidate will also be an organised and effective communicator with the ability to manage a varied workload across simultaneous projects and changing priorities. Knowledge and understanding of climate change and other environmental issues would be an advantage.
