Duties and responsibilities
You will manage strategic projects and high priority donor relationships, with the aim of attracting major gifts (£25k+) in support of the Faculty of Engineering, as well as the wider College’s fundraising objectives. Developing and delivering on key areas of major gifts fundraising strategy is key and you will be a trusted advisor both within and outside the Advancement Division for identifying innovative ways to capitalise on fundraising opportunities.
This career opportunity promises to be varied and will utilize to the maximum your experience gained in roles such as a Major Gift Officer, Development Officer, Fundraising Specialist, Major Gifts Manager, Development Manager, Leadership Giving Officer/Manager or similar.
Essential requirements
- You will be able to evidence success as a professional fundraiser in securing major gifts (£25k plus).
- You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to demonstrate tact, diplomacy and thoughtfulness when dealing with sensitive matters.
- You will be persuasive and compelling in your approach to asking for donations face-to-face and in writing effective proposals and applications for funding.
- You will have a strong track record of successfully negotiating and managing relationships with high net worth individuals.
- You will have knowledge of fundraising best practice in the sector of Higher Education.
- You will have experience of effectively transferring skills to others, including the ability to act as coach and mentor for junior team members.
