The Role

The role of Degree Apprenticeships Compliance Manager is a pivotal position within Kingston University’s support for and delivery of Degree Apprenticeships, and will involve working with course teams and senior management across the university to deliver a high quality service. The post holder will ensure that Kingston University remains compliant in its statutory and regulatory requirements for degree apprenticeship provision, acting as a source of internal advice and coordinating activities across university for data returns for apprenticeships. They will also take ownership for the management and delivery of a number of key processes associated with degree apprenticeships, including compliant onboarding, monitoring on-programme compliance steps, data collection/cleansing, process map and evidence pack updating etc.

As well as leading on the APTEM (end-to-end apprenticeship management system) embedding, the post holder will also contribute to aspects of relationship management and employer engagement  through delivery of a high quality compliance function.

The Person

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, and/or have data management and administration experience at senior level in the skills and training business environment. You will have experience in ensuring compliance in relation to the provision of apprenticeships, in the Higher Education setting – including highly developed knowledge of statutory requirements for apprenticeships in relation to reporting and relevant regulatory frameworks. Experience of working with large amounts of data, including interrogating large datasets, and the submission of ILR and statutory apprenticeship returns.

You will have knowledge and experience of using apprentice record systems, ideally APTEM or similar, support the degree apprenticeship life-cycle and an understanding of the reporting and quality assurance requirements for higher and degree apprenticeship programmes. Experience of line management of a compliance or related function. You will demonstrate strong employer relationship and partnership management skills with the ability to conclude satisfactory onboarding.

Further information

This is a full time, permanent role with a starting salary of £47,004 per annum, which will be increasing to £48,251 per annum from 1 August 2023 following the national Higher Education pay award. The role attracts 35 days AL in addition to bank holidays, and auto-enrolment into the Local Government Pension Scheme with generous 20.2% employer contribution rates.
